Footbag workshop (1 hour)

– Trainer’s presentation
– Sport’s history
– Video presentation (5 minutes, includes net footbag and freestyle)
– Introduction to the basic techniques.
– Practice of 5 basic strokes.

Depending on the time remaining and the skill level of the class we may add elements such as consecutive kicks competition and circle play.

Space and material required

The ideal space is the school gymnasium, although a good size room can do the trick. We need a laptop and screen for the presentation of the video. We provide the material required for the technical exercises.

Who is it for?

This workshop is available for students in the 2nd cycle of elementary school, i.e. 4th, 5th and 6th grade, as well as for the entire secondary school. It is mainly intended for physical education classes but can easily be adapted for pedagogical days in daycare services and for various special events. The limit is 30 students per facilitator.

Footbag Workshop (up to 3 hours)

Options divisible in 3 one-hour workshops.
In the context of special programs such as high school physical education concentrations, we have sometimes given workshops of longer durations. (typically 2.5 to 3 hours)
In this case we go more in depth with the learning exercises and reserve the last hour for an introduction to the net game either the mini net for secondary 1-2-3 or the regular size net for secondary 4 and 5 if the group is skilled enough.

Peteca workshop

Although PETECA is much easier to approach than FOOTBAG, there are still some techniques that make for easier assimilation .
I have been playing Peteca since 2005, I organize training sessions and tournaments so I have added a few things to my wallet since then.
The workshop includes these modules:

  • Presentation of a short video and brief history of the game
  • Short demonstration with the teacher
  • Informal circle game, without further instructions, in groups of 3 to 5 people
  • Series of technical exercises in groups of two
  • Friendly competition between these groups, the goal being to complete the series with the most hits in two minutes
  • Service receiving drill (Over the net)
  • If time permits, net games

We need a laptop screen combo for the video presentation and we provide the shuttlecocks for the technical exercises. Mini-volleyball or, if not available, badminton nets will be necessary in the last section of the workshop.
